Jun San Juan, PhD, ATC
Born and raised in the Philippines. Jun moved to the United States in 2000 after graduating from University of the Philippines with a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Science. He then received a Master’s degree in Biomechanics from San Diego State University. An interest in research and teaching led him to obtain a PhD in Human Physiology with an emphasis in Biomechanics from the University of Oregon. After finishing his doctoral degree, Jun spent two years at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa as an Assistant Professor of Sport Science.
As Director of Biokinesiology at Tensegrity Physical Therapy, Jun will specialize in clinical research on the efficacy of common physical therapy exercises and treatments. His doctoral research examined the role of shoulder biomechanics in shoulder impingement syndrome. His experience as an athletic trainer and researcher will aid him with examining patient injury biomechanics and finding exercises and therapeutic techniques to treat patient injuries.
